Asustek has released details of the Asus K93SV notebook, the largest member of the K-series to date. The K73 hasn’t the biggest screen in the Versatile Performance K family anymore, since the K93 Beats Headphones desktop replacement sports an 18.4-inch panel with, unsurprisingly, full HD resolution. The display is powered by the NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M 1GB video card, while the main computing tasks are done on the Intel “Sandy Bridge” Core i3 or i5 dual-core or i7 quad-core CPU. The notebook has four SODIMM slots Monster Beats Headphones (versus 2 in almost every notebook) for up to 16GB of system memory. Inside the brushed metal-like brownish case, there’s enough room for dual hard drives, but the most interesting feature mentioned in the specifications is support for a 3.5-inch HDD, a form factor comonly used in desktop PCs. The “master” 3.5″ HDD can be accompanied by a second 2.5″ unit, according to the specs. The 5.6cm-thick Asus K93SV weighs around 9 pounds and comes with a Blu-ray Combo drive or DVD burner, a spacious chiclet keyboard with a dedicated Apple MacBook – Core 2 Duo 2.16 GHz – RAM 1 GB – HDD 120 GB – DVD ... numeric pad, a 0.3MP webcam, Altec Lansing speakers, four USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, a 6-cell battery, and IceCool component arangement keeping the palm rest away from the heat inside. At the time of this writing, we have no info on retail prices for the system, as well as on availability. Source
