So, if Kate Middleton happened to be shopping for wedding dresses in Fort Wayne, what would area bridal consultants put her in?
Well, their visions are remarkably different for the waif-like British royal bride-to-be. But they're seeing something "simple" and more body-conscious than the ginormous unmade bed of a gown worn by the bridegroom's mother.
At The Bride to Be at 2809 Broadway, owner Sarah Winling would choose a new arrival by Matthew Christopher. "Sasha" is a mermaid-style strapless silk-satin with a sweetheart neckline.
"The amount of detail and the crystal beading is just amazing. It's one of those jaw dropping dresses that everybody would be talking about," she says of the gown plus size prom dresse 2011, which sells for just under $3 A-Line prom dresses,000.
At The Perfect Dress at 537 W. Jefferson Blvd., a $1,200 strapless Justin Alexander (Style No. 8537) would be manager Julie Davis' choice for Middleton.
It has a pleated sweetheart neck and floral beading with seed pearls and crystals down the left side of the bodice, a short train that can be bustled and covered and crystal buttons on its swoopingly low back.

At Bridals by Touma, owner Samira Touma, who was designing high-end dresses for the European bridal market in Princess Diana's day ball gowns 2011, sees lace. She doesn't have a particular favorite gown in mind for Kate cheap guest dresses, but says, "I could design it the way she wants."

I just wish I could see what the bridegroom's mother would be wearing.
