Ok, so I just spend two or three whistful hours attempting to perform out how to modify the "All Users" profile on the Windows Server 2008 method. I wanted to add a program to run at login (e.g. inside the Begin Menu|Programs|Startup directory) for all end users that login, but stuff are now somewhat several with Vista and Windows Server 2008.
I have discovered fairly a number of everyday people asking similar issues via the internet but nobody appears to have presented a solution that actually works so I imagined I'd post my findings.
First of all, for anyone who haven't hit this just before,Microsoft Office 2010 Product Key, the "C:Documents and Settings" directory exactly where consumer profiles are saved in Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 programs has altered to "C:Users" in Vista and Windows Server 2008. (I repeatedly encounter XP customers who've upgraded to Vista finding confused by this a single)
So now in Vista and Windows Server 2008 the "All Users" directory within the C:Consumers directory is usually a hidden directory and that means you will will need to "Show hidden files and folders" in Windows Explorer by heading Instruments|Folder Solutions|View to exhibit it.
As soon as you have visability on the C:UsersAll End users directory you'll observe that it is just a shortcut then if you should attempt to access it you're going to get an "Access Denied" dialog box. Real Handy.
Looking at the properties of the "All Users" directory shows that it points for the C:ProgramData directory (this can be a new strategy directory that did not exist in older versions e.g. XP etc). The C:ProgramData directory is also a hidden directory but when you have already done "Show hidden files & folders" as above then you are going to see it.
The C:ProgramData directory has a sub-directory called "Start Menu" but you'll get Entry Denied on this one particular too.
This is now receiving a bit long so lets go straight on the answer ... the Startup directory I needed is now at "C:ProgramDataMicrosoftWindowsStart MenuProgramsStartup"
So essentially,Office 2007 Professional, under Vista and Windows Server 2008 the "All Users" profile is now manifested as the C:ProgramData directory and there are shortcuts from the C:UsersAll End users directory to your new location for compatibility reasons but in most cases you're going to get an Accessibility Denied dialog box when you attempt to accessibility the shortcuts but you will definitely find most of what you are looking for under C:ProgramDataMicrosoft. You can also access this via C:UsersAll UsersMicrosoft
