We were inspired by the cave and rock setting of Combe Martin so decided to do something a bit different as we didn’t just want a normal traditional wedding.”
Forget the traditional white wedding gown and black tuxedo. A British couple, Gayle Watson & Ed Robinson, donned something a bit more…prehistoric if you will. They strolled down the aisle costumed as their favorite cartoon characters Wilma and Fred Flintstone. She even wore a bright orange wig, large peal necklace and the white and zebra patterned dress. He of course in Fred’s tiger skin outfit. They held the ceremony yesterday near the town of Combe Martin at the Landmark Theatre in Ilfracombe,

The entire wedding party got into the action with the best man and maid of honor dressed as the Rubbles, the ring bearer as Bam Bam and the flower girl as Pebbles. The 100 guests also joined in on the fun with most of them in caveman outfits. The couple had a Flintsones car made just for the wedding and a 20-foot dinosaur commissioned as well. The reception was held at the nearby Royal Marine Hotel and was decorated to look like a rock cavern. Here is how the groom described the day:
Even The Royal Marine pub was converted into a cave and they put Bedrock on the front of the building so it looked like something from the Flintstones. It was just what our friends expected from us – so it was a fun day.
It was a fantastic day and everyone really enjoyed it. Everyone really got into it as cave men and women. We got married on the stage of the Landmark Theatre which we plastered to look like a cave and it really looked like something from the Flintstones!
