Work by John Ashton, Ian Heard, Richard Glass, Jeannine Allen and Henryetta Farleigh features in Out Of The Blue at Harbour House in Kingsbridge this autumn. South d&g shoulder bag Devon has been the home of John Ashton since he retired from a somewhat nomadic career as a lighting roadie for some of the world’s major rock bands. Passionate about the countryside and country life, John is well known for his oil paintings of native birds, hounds and horses. Twice shortlisted for the David Shepherd Foundation Wildlife Artist of the Year, John’s work has been seen as far afield as the Mall ################## in London, the National Exhibition of Wildlife Art in the Wirral, and the Marwell International Wildlife Exhibition in Hampshire. Ian Heard, whose work is pictured, presents a collection of oil paintings and watercolours of boats, yachts and water. As an illustrator, his work has appeared in many books and international publications, including Yachting Monthly and France Magazine. Working from his Teign Valley Glass Studio at Bovey Tracey, Richard Glass says that his designs ‘feel a little retro, but have a contemporary twist’. Following a career as a production glassmaker at Dartington Crystal, Richard gained a Masters Degree in glass design at Sunderland University, before returning to the South studio dr dre West to set up his own studio. Jeannine Allen‘s semi-abstract oil paintings are inspired by the wild beauty of the coastlines and moorland landscapes near to her Plymouth home – often focusing on working boats with their multi-coloured reflections and battered paintwork, and harbours, with their sense of safety and permanence. She has always loved colourful places, and has been inspired by the light and brilliance of Provence and Morocco, where she lived for some time. An established professional photographer, Henryetta Farleigh shows her work for the first time in a public ##############. ‘Painting pictures with light’ cheapest gucci bags is how she likes to describe what she does, and she has a preference for low light photography. She bought her first camera for 3d. at a village bazaar, the start of a lifelong love of the photographic medium, and now revels in the flexibility and immediacy of new digital technologies. Out Of The Blue is at Harbour House in Kingsbridge from October 4 t0 16, 2011. Admission is free. See the Harbour House website for details. Respond needs javascript to run.
