How to Make Swarovaski Jewelry
Swarovski is a manufacturer of fine crystal goods. While you can buy ready-made Swarovski jewelry at a variety of retailers, it is also possible to make your own using Swarovski crystal beads. Swarovski crystal beads are widely available at bead stores and jewelry-making supply vendors. They come in a broad spectrum of vibrant colors, sizes and shapes ranging from cubes to hearts. With the right supplies, a bit of time and some inspiration, you can use Swarovski crystal beads to make necklaces, earrings,
Thomas Sabo Circle Necklace, bracelets, anklets and any other type of adornments you envision.
Choose a chain with links at least 2 mm wide; this will ensure you can attach Swarovski crystal beads to the chain. Note that metal chain is available in sterling silver, gold, brass, copper and silver- and gold-plated base metal. Remember that metal chain also comes in a variety of thicknesses and styles.
Cut a length of metal jewelry chain using wire cutters. Remove a length of chain that is long enough to create either a necklace, bracelet or anklet.
Gather an assortment of Swarovski crystal beads in the shapes, sizes and colors you desire. Make sure each Swarovski crystal bead is pierced all the way through with a hole.
Snip off a portion of 22-gauge metal jewelry wire that is 2 times as long as a Swarovski crystal bead. Choose jewelry wire in the same type of metal as your chain, such as sterling silver.
Push the piece of jewelry wire through the holes of a Swarovski crystal bead. Form a small loop with the wire emerging from the bottom of the bead using round nosed pliers. Note that this loop serves to hold the bead securely on the wire.
Form a larger loop with the wire at the top of the bead using round nosed pliers. Hook this loop onto a link of the metal chain before closing it completely.
Repeat Steps 5 and 6 with as many Swarovski crystal beads as you desire. Add a crystal bead to every, or every other, link of chain for a luxe, glimmering effect.
Attach a metal clasp to your necklace, bracelet or anklet. Insert pieces of jewelry wire into the holes or rings on both sides of the link. Hook the jewelry wire onto the end links of the bracelet, necklace or anklet and curl it into a circle to secure the clasp.
Make Swarovski earrings by inserting wires into two beads and creating wire loops at the top and bottom of each bead as described in Steps 5 and 6. Hook the top loop of each bead onto the small ring at the base of each earring wire.
