Remember, you hike it in - you hike it out. Everything you bring with you into the canyon you must bring with you back out of it. That means everything, including used toilet paper. To avoid having to hike out used TP be sure to use the rest areas along the trails. Generally there are enough bathrooms along the trails to keep you from having to use your own TP supply, but it is always a good idea to have it with you just in case.
Parents! I warn you not to take your children on a hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Most of the trails are very narrow foot paths with steep drops to one side that can accommodate single file hiking only, no hand holding.
