My experiences there echo his sentiment. That said, if you do go there, you will undoubtedly have a very good meal.Finally, I would agree with Matt's assessment of Antica Trattoria. I would add Ristorante Ideale in North Beach for a similar quality of food/service. It is generally considered one of the, if not the, best Italian restaurants in North Beach. It's probably at the top of the second-tier Italian restaurants in town, which is where I'd put Antica as well.
