Edward Drummond Libbey (1854-1925) and his wife Florence Scott Libbey (1863-1938),Tissot Watches - Innovators by Tradition, ca. 1901.
Edward Drummond Libbey (1854-1925) is the dad of the glass manufacture in Toledo, Ohio, where he opened the Libbey Glass Company (later Libbey, Inc.) in 1888.
Biography
Libbey was connate in Chelsea, Massachusetts, USA. After attending Boston University, he worked because the New England Glass Company beginning in 1874, appropriate chancellor from 1883 apt 1886.
He opened the Libbey Glass Co in Toledo, Ohio, in 1888, sponsoring a demonstration vegetation at the Chicago manifestation of 1893. His success relied heavily above the inventions of Michael Joseph Owens.
