The Conservative government unveiled a stimulus package to help the struggling economy. Ignatieff, while criticizing the measure as delayed and not sufficient, supported the package on the condition that the government updates regularly the progress in its implementation to parliament members.
"It (the poll) shows how the change in leadership for the Liberals and the economic downtown have all come together to create a much more competitive political environment right now," the Strategic Counsel's Peter Donolo said.
