Today is the World health day with the slogan of WHO Antimicrobial resistance: no action today,
sunglasses oakley, no cure tomorrow. Antimicrobial resistance is not a new problem but one that is becoming more dangerous that is the reason for urgent and consolidated efforts are needed to avoid regressing to the pre-antibiotic era. For World Health Day 2011, WHO is introducing a six point policy package to combat the spread of antimicrobial resistance which includes the following points?
Policy Package to Combat Antimicrobial Resistance
Commit to a comprehensive and financed national plan with accountability and civil society engagement.
Strengthen surveillance and laboratory capacity.
Ensure uninterrupted access to essential medicines of assured quality.
Regulate and promote regional use of medicines, including in animal husbandry and ensure proper patient care.
Enhance infection prevention and control (IPC).
Foster innovations and research and development for new tools.
