rangeley — regional school union 78 member towns voted 71-8 on tuesday to accept rangeley plantation into the school district, superintendent brian foster said wednesday.
rangeley plantation residents voted 54-4 on feb. 1 to accept the plan to join rsu 78, which serves the town of rangeley, dallas and sandy river plantations in franklin county and magalloway plantation in oxford county.
the breakdown of tuesday’s votes by town was: sandy river plantation,
Microsoft Office 2010 64bit Key, 16-1; dallas plantation, 30-2; rangeley 19-5; magalloway plantation, 6-0, according to foster.
rangeley plantation will officially become part of rsu 78 on july 1,
Windows 7 Ultimate Activation, he said.
however, as soon as rangeley plantation holds an election for two school board members in the near future, those board members will join the 10-member rsu 78 board, foster said. rangeley has five members on the board; dallas and sandy river plantations, two; and magalloway,
Office Pro 2007 Activation, one.
according to the proposed plan,
Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007, rangeley plantation will pay its share of the first year's costs for the formation of the rsu 78 system.
voters in the towns that make up rsu 78 approved consolidation in 2009. rangeley plantation and lincoln plantation voters opposed it.
the proposed plan “will reduce some costs for all member municipalities of rsu 78 and allow rangeley plantation to pay the same share as other municipalities,
Microsoft Office Standard 2007 Serial,” according to the planning committee.
rangeley plantation also will pay a one-year cost that equalizes actual cost of education in rsu 78 for the current 2010-11 school year for its 16 students, the committee stated in a letter to the district’s community.
the plan also provides a clause that would allow other municipalities to join without reworking the plan in its entirety.
