Christmas was my favourite festival even as a child.First of all it meant holidays from school.Days and weeks earlier the preparations would begin at home.We would get time to spend at home and help mom clean up the entire house. Attic used to be the favourite place that we loved to go and clean. Our parents cleaned up these places and tried to throw out the junk where as we children went there to go through our trunks and take out our old toys. We wouldn’t let our parents throw away any of our things and all of our favourites landed back either in the attic or in  our bedrooms adding to the clutter. Then there was the usual ritual of Christmas tree that one cannot forget. It was always the same ritual with all of us piling into daddy’s car to fetch the Christmas tree home and spend late hours decorating it. Of course the other thing that every child looked forward to during Christmas was the special gift that Santa Claus would bring for us. How can we  not mention the good food, the chocolates, special sweets and lots of goodies that happened to us during Christmas times.
By the time I went to high school and later to the college, things changed with me and Christmas too changed. This was the time when I started communing with god and realised that I was a soul. I enjoyed all the things that I engaged with right from the singing with the Church group to the Christmas mass and the other projects that the group at the church undertook. Joining the study group to learn the bible and study Christ’s teachings was a true revelation. This was a true moment that brought me face to face with God. I would call these to be the formative years when I really grew up as an individual. Till then there was a hidden unclear restlessness and search going on in my subconscious. I could put all of that restlessness behind and look ahead to the guiding light to show me the path for my life. Of course I am not referring to my life in terms of the temporal world at all. What was clear to me was the path to perfection as a human soul. I began to understand what Christ wanted of his followers and all fellow beings. I understood that Christ gave us values and truths that are timeless and relevant for all ages.Attaining human perfection by following the precepts of truth as taught by Jesus is the guiding light of our life.
In fact having learnt to follow the inner call and a spiritually grounded life, my life has been sailing on safe and calm waters. That doesn’t mean that I haven’t had any downturns and problems in my family life as well as in financial life. Despite all the upheavals in the exterior life,moncler piumini, my inner life has always remained calm, peaceful and serene.
I do not take personal credit for choosing to become a doctor and having been so successful today. It was the spirit of service that led me to choose this as my vocation. Everyday I am thankful for the opportunity I am given to serve all those in need and for doing my job, am immensely rewarded both financially and otherwise too.
