Given his age and his promotion to the majors with no AAA experience, 2009 looks like a pretty good year for Cahill. I’m interested to see what adjustments he makes this season, and if his strikeouts start coming back.
Cahill is young, pitching as a 21-year-old in 2009. He blew away batters at A and AA ball,
Leaving the Starter In, but his strikeouts dropped to just 4.5 per nine innings in the majors,
Cheap Tampa Bay Rays Hats, and his home runs mushroomed. He gave up over three times as many home runs in the majors as he did in his whole minor league career.
Trevor Cahill pitches as a starter for the Oakland Athletics. Cahill played as a true rookie in 2009, and the A’s did not hold him back as he pitched 178 2/3 innings in 32 starts. That’s over 50 more innings than he pitched in the minors in 2008,
Oakland Athletics Hats Sale, making him a prime candidate for the Verducci Effect in 2010.
