Wright vs. Rivera The Last At-Bat

Because David Wright has had his share of troubles this year, there may be a tendency to point to his final two at-bats of Friday’s 2-1 loss to the Yankees as more examples of the same.
But is grounding out against Mariano Rivera really a crime?
Even if Rivera has been vulnerable lately, no closer in the game is better. Then Wright came to bat and could not keep it going as he hit a ground ball to second base to end the game as Rivera earned his eighth save.

It’s not about not wanting to be in that situation. You want to be in those situations and put together good at-bats. Sometimes it just doesn’t work out your way.”
Plenty of great hitters could say the same thing after facing Rivera.
Wright also struck out looking against Joba Chamberlain in the seventh inning with runners at first and second and the Mets trailing,cheap Tampa Bay Rays Hats, 2-0. As for Davis, who doubled off Rivera in his first at-bat against him, he said there was no real trick to it.
“Everyone kind of knows what he’s going to throw you,” Davis said,Metal Mulisha Hats, referring to Rivera’s cut fastball. “I really just tried to see it,Texas Rangers Hats sale, try to pull my hands inside the ball and see if I could make contact with it. I happened to find the barrel.”
