Budget Fix No. 497: Use Sheep to Cut Grass

You know it's baaaaaad when they start calling in the sheep. After Pennsylvania slashed 900 million from the education budget, school districts had to start getting creative. In Carlisle, Penn., where they took a 2 million hit, the school district has done some progressive things like installing solar panels to save on energy costs. Their latest effort is a little more low-tech: They dior handbags brought in seven Romney sheep to mow the grass. The sheep, which usually sell for around 200, didn't cost anything — they actually belong to the principal of the middle school.
