Made in Italy for the people of Italy — that's the way it's always been. Until now that is. For more than 50 years, Fortunato Rubolino has been tailoring garments of the highest quality for people he now calls his friends in the city of Naples in Italy.
But this week the classically-dressed Italian grandfather is making history and taking his traditional Napolitano suits, jackets and trousers across the water and out of Italy for the first time.
And the people of the UAE are in for a treat as it's Dubai he's heading for first.

Standing among mandarin trees in small court yards that break up the property, coffee is the first order of the day as Rubolino extends his generous hospitality with the style only a true Italian could.
Working for friends
It doesn't take long to understand why the Rubolino family only produce a tiny 15 to 20 jackets each month. The lines are perfect in every way and every stitch is painstakingly sewn by talented ladies from the city.
Just four workers cut patterns, compare material and inspect the finishing.
He said: "We are a family business and that's the way we like it. The clothes are hand-stitched wherever possible and that is also very important to us. I sell to my friends because that's what they've become. I work with them and for them and know every last measurement down to the last millimetre."
But over the past few years Rubolino says he has noticed an increasing demand for his products.
Time to explore
"The world is becoming a smaller place — people talk and they like what we do and after all these years we have finally made a family decision to take our products to other countries. We are proud of what we do and how we do it and we are starting to explore."
In years gone by Rubolino would have waited for his customers to arrive by appointment. Conversation would begin with what kind of coffee the particular client would like and how the family is keeping. And then would come the art form — the measuring, the marking,Giubbotto Moncler Uomo, binding and stitching — an art form which Barbara is continuing for the Rubolino family.
'Proud'
She said: "I am so proud of what I do for me, my family and the city we represent. My career path was mapped out for me from as early as I can remember. I've grown up around tailors and when I was old enough I went to design school to get my degree as a designer in my own right. It was never forced upon me — I think I was just born with fashion designing in my blood."
The Rubolino suit is typical of many produced in Naples — with square shoulders and a unique gathering at the top of the sleeve. A massive 80 per cent hand-made,doudoune moncler, the Rubolino suit is only machine sewn at key stress points, unlike many of the competitors.
Dressing italy
So why Dubai for their first international steps?
He said: "It seems Dubai is fast becoming a fashion hub and we decided it would be worth checking out. Everyone in the fashion world is talking about Dubai and we thought we would see what the Middle East thinks of our suits."
But Rubolino isn't the only one with grand designs of hitting the Middle East.
At 60 years old, Gino Cimmino is also spreading his Italian wings and taking his family brand to Dubai.
Having sewn his first stitches at the age of just eight, Gino said he was "simply born to dress Italy".
Stood in front of a typical Italian wrought iron gate, Gino struggles to open the security lock and curses in thick Italian.
On the other side lies a wealth of knowledge and skill spanning three generations of his family.
Built from humble beginnings Gino explains his grandfather and uncle Armanda would hand him small pieces of material to sew together before he could tell the time.
At 14,Giubbotto Moncler Donna, he started working for a tailor in Naples where he developed not only his skills but his passion for the industry.
But at only 23, Gino craved more and spearheaded a move which saw the birth of Gino Cimmino — a new brand.
Now,Moncler outlet, 37 years later, it's a name respected throughout Italy.
Dubai style
He said: "Dubai is a place where people have style and taste and they know good quality when they see it. It is often reported that people in the Middle East will pay good money for a product as long as it's quality made.
"I have even produced a jacket, especially for my forthcoming trip to Dubai because I believe it would be perfect for the market."
The designers will be at the Motexha Spring trade show at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre (DIEC) from March 31 to April 2.
