CPU Motherboard Issue | General Hardware

I ‘m having an issue with my CPU / Motherboard and I ‘m not sure which is causing the issue. I <a href="http://www.headphonesell.com/beats-by-dr-dre-studio-high-definition-powered-isolation-headph-p-248.html"><strong>beats by dre studio</strong></a> had an asus striker extreme mobo and an intel E6600 CPU. We had a series of power outages and after the 2nd power outage my comp would power up but would not post. The LCD poseter was giving me a CPU INIT error and when looking it up online, I was believed that it was motherboard related. I tested the CPU at one point in another motherboard and it posted / booted successfully. I then RMA ‘d the board but when that new board returned, it was giving me the same CPU INIT error. I decided that I didn ‘t want to bother paying for shipping a 2nd time for a board with <a href="http://www.headphonesell.com/monster-turbine-pro-highperformance-inear-speakers-in-copper-p-239.html"><strong>monster in-ear speakers</strong></a> so many issues so I went with a different board manufacturer but stuck with an nvidia chipset (this is where I believe my problem stems from). I ordered an EVGA nforce 780i SLI mobo and when it finally arrived on Friday, I loaded everything up and when I powered up the board received an FF message on the board. I received this FF before any other codes were listed. I ‘ve looked this FF up online and it seems to be the identical error to the CPU INIT (issues relating to a bad CMOS chip). At this point I was wondering if somehow my CPU had gone bad. I ‘m afraid to test it in any other motherboards because <a href="http://www.headphonesell.com/specials.html"><strong>monster beats headphone</strong></a> I can ‘t afford to keep frying them if this is what ‘s happening. Is there a way that anyone is aware of to test a CPU? If a motherboard is powering up but not posting does that generally mean the CPU or board is dead? If it ‘s the motherboard and I test a good CPU in the motherboard will it short out that CPU as well? I had the Power Supply tested out and they (local tech shop) said it was fine, I even tried a different Power Supply just to make sure. I ‘ve tried multiple sticks of ram, tried a couple <a href="http://financenetwork1.net/blog.php?user=johnlawler4&blogentry_id=75931"><str ong>New MacBook Air and Mac mini Teardown: SSDs Not Soldered to ...</strong></a> of different video cards and had the same problem. If anyone has any thoughts and would like some additional information let me know and I ‘ll provide whatever I can. Thanks in advance, Chris
