A new chapter is becoming composed in a single of Australia's most bitter political and cultural sagas.
The Hindmarsh Island bridge dispute in the 1990s led to a royal commission in South Australia, legal action plus a divisive discussion about Aboriginal spiritual beliefs.
The royal commission identified statements of solution women's enterprise had been fabricated.
But a Federal Court ruling later acknowledged the statements weren't produced up.
Now the South Australian Government is acknowledging that.
For several, the bridge just became a way to get from Goolwa throughout the Murray towards the island's houses and new marinas.
