‘Bark for Life’ event set for March 26 at Marlin City Park
Members of the Falls County Relay For Life will host a ‘Bark for Life’ event on Saturday Graduation dresses, March 26th beginning at 10 a.m. at the Marlin City Park.
Bark for Life is a Relay for Life fundraising event that honors the care giving qualities of canine companions.
Throughout the year Yellow dresses, several events are held in an effort to help raise funds and awareness to fight cancer in our community with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society’s (ACS) efforts to find a cure for the dreaded disease. Bark for Life will provide a venue for you and your pet to participate together while raising money to support this community event as pets are not allowed at the April Relay for Life.
Bark for Life will also give you an opportunity to honor cancer survivors and to remember those who have lost their fight against the disease.
Some of the activities for the Bark for Life include Weiner dog races Mermaid dresses, a pet parade Formal dresses, a best-dressed pet contest, a best dog-trick award inexpensive prom dresses, a dog Olympics and a walking track.
Entry fees are $10 for three events or less affordable prom dresses, $15 for all events and $20 if you register the day of event. You may call Nancy Gandy at (254) 859-5136 or Sarah Hefelfinger at (254) 447-0415 for pre-registration forms or for more information. Pre-registration forms are also available at Jen’s Petal Patch in Marlin.
Another fundraising event in the works is a “Dress for a Cure” happening on April 2nd from 10 a.m. � 4 p.m. Team members are rounding up gently used prom dresses to be sold with proceeds to benefit the ACS. If you have prom dresses to donate White dresses, please call one of the above numbers cheap grad dresses, or if you are in need of a prom dress, come and check them out. The fashions will be displayed at the building located next door to Jen’s Petal Patch on Coleman Street (across from Chamber of Commerce). Watch for signs.
The actual Relay for Life event will be held on April 29th at the Rosebud-Lott High School in Travis so make your plans now to be a part of any or all of the events.
