How To Paint With Oils – Q&A: oil on canvas (painting)? – Oil Painting Tips Question by K K: oil on canvas (painting)? i have a more complex question, so if you’re free…can you tell me how big a canvas I need to buy and does oil mean oil pastels. what else do i need. how do you “erase” the mistakes you make. which type of pencil works best. so you just draw it all with a pencil and then use the canada goose down oil pastels and that’s it, right? i’m doing this because i want to put the painting at the end of my piece of writing, that’s why it’s important that i know how big the canvas should be because i have to scan it all later. is there anything else i can do except scanning? thanx for any reply/advice. Best answer: Answer by mister_fadThose are a lot of questions. Generally “oil” refers to “oil paints”. If you have a large painting thats beyond the size of the conventional GHDÂ*RedÂ*lustÂ* scanner, you’ll want to have a graphic arts place (or printer) to scan it for you (they have large drum scanners). If you’re just getting your feet wet with oil pastels or the like, I would suggest going to your local library and checking out some “how-to” books pertaining to what you want to accomplish. As far as alternatives, there’s always digital painting. I’m an illustrator and use a program called Painter (along with a digital tablet). The program simulates pastels, oils, etc. It takes a while to learn, though, and if you don’t have the time to play with it, you may grow frustrated. There’s canada goose discount an easy to use “lite” version of this program that you can download (good for 30 days) called Painter Essentials. http://www.download.com/3120-20_4.ht...&tag=srch You may have some fun with it. What do you think? Answer below!
