Setting a date for the wedding is a major step in getting married. Once a date has been set other aspects of the wedding can begin to come together. Reserving the location of the wedding and reception is somewhat urgent to prevent those places being previously booked. Remember the date cards can be made and invitations. Before sending out the invitations though, a tentative guest list needs to be created. Agreeing on a number of guests to invite can be difficult. It always seems to be easier to continue to think of people to invite than to try to keep the guest list small. It is important to count the "plus one" for those individuals invited who may bring a date when calculating your estimated number of guests.
Then there are all of the things concerning the wedding party. The groom and the bride need to decide on their best man and maid of honor, and then the rest of the groomsman and bridesmaids. If there are small children, deciding whether or not to have a ring bearer or a flower girl is important. With larger intimate families this can be a difficult process because no one wants to be excluded, but it is also hard to have an extremely large wedding party. Of course there is also the fun stuff that comes along with the wedding parties like bachelor and bachelorette parties if you decide to have them, wedding showers, and finding thank you gifts for the groomsman and bridesmaids.
The planning of a wedding can be quite hectic with all of the choices and little decisions, but hopefully the wedding party is helpful and the groom and bride work together on the decisions. Early on in the planning a color scheme is important to decide because from there the other decisions will stem like the type and color of flowers, the color of bridesmaid dresses, and linens for the reception. When it all comes together, all your decisions will become the dream wedding. Remember with all the stress of planning that this is an expression of your love for one another. Do not let the stress become to overwhelming. The focus should always be one each other and your life together.
